Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson grew up in Mexico with a family that loved music. Her childhood was spent listening to classic, old boleros as well as traditional romantic and Ranchero songs. Ana loves the opera and tango genres as well as any form of dramatic performance. She began singing and learning songs with her mother and commenced more serious singing training at the age of 16 with renowned Mexican tenor Flavio Becerra. Her musical education continued at the School of Music of Guadalajara University, then at the School of Sacred Music, Toluca. While a student, and when she was a professional young in Mexico City and Guadalajara she was a member of several chamber ensembles as well as choruses. She sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus in the United States before moving to Southern California. She sings as a soloist Latin American music for private occasions and is a part of Ensemble XXI in Redlands. Her love and passion for art, music, and performing keeps her involved in many local projects as a teacher and performer. Ana has also been a former participant in the Community Chorus of Redlands, the Inland Master Chorale, and the Performance Loft. Ana hopes, by sharing her knowledge her love of Latin American traditional songs, that she can instill a passion, particularly for the young generation, for keeping this music alive.
